COVID-19 has in many ways disrupted the function and operation of most education institutions. With limited mobility and classes to be conducted online, the effectiveness and efficiency of teaching and learning are very much affected. Thus, education institutions must find ways to cope with the new scenarios and new normal of doing things, but it should not be at the compromise of quality education to be provided to the students – SDG 4. What and how can school and universities overcome the challenges? At the same time, COVID-19 reveal many other socio-economic and cultural challenges that also directly and indirectly affect the education process. Therefore, participants will be learned how to prepare the educators to have better understanding and skills to ensure that COVID-19 will not further widen the existing gap in education and its function as social leveller.

Creating 3D Content in Blender 3D for ClassVR

This workshop introduces Blender 3D, a software under Class VR that enables educators to design material for teaching and learning. Through this workshop, participants will be exposed to
• Virtual reality and augmented reality concepts,
• Ways to design T&L materials through Blender 3D, and
• Examples of 3D models and animation that can be designed through Blender 3D.

Participants will also be exposed to ClassVR, the platform that hosts Blender 3D.

Team Teaching: A Solution for Integrated Curriculum

Workshop 4

Designing Future Ready Curriculum

This session will suggest how a university should seriously relook and rethink curriculum structures, reorganizing curriculum contents and context, teaching approaches and methods of assessment. It will also discuss the essential learning outcomes, inclusion of skills and/or competencies in the curriculum that will enable graduates to adapt to, and effectively meet new challenges, as well as to create and take up new opportunities. The future curriculum needs to reflect how the academia prepare learners for an unknown future, which makes them futuristic. The most critical being how students/graduates can apply what they learned, what skills they obtained to survive in the new changing world. Engagements and feedbacks from industries and the society must be cogently considered and discussed in the development of future curriculums. During the workshop, participants will reflect and share the characteristics of futuristic graduates and how the curriculum shall be like in the new normal post-COVID-19 era.

Community Project-Based Learning: The Creative and
Immersive Learning Culture for Generation Z

This workshop introduces community project-based learning, a learning method that encourages educators to implement teaching and learning activities together with school communities, local authorities, and the industry. Through this workshop, participants will be exposed to

• The community project-based learning concept,
• Implementation of the concept in T&L, and
• Case study implemented by the speaker.

A project based on this concept obtained third place for the Face-to-Face Immersive Learning Experience award under the Minister of Education’s Curriculum Design and Innovative Delivery (AKRI) Award in 2019.
