STEM-MATE Competition

Introduction

Teaching and learning materials for STEM is still limited hence Project STEMazing UTM invites educators to share their STEM teaching and learning materials that they developed/innovate for their students. In conjunction with NALI 2020, STEM-Mate (STEM Materials for Teaching) Competition is open to passionate educators in developing their own innovative teaching and learning materials to teach STEM.

 

Rules and Regulations

How can you enter the Competition?

  • You have to be a TEACHER
  • Participation can be in groups or individual
  • Apply and fill in the form online HERE by 15 November 2020
  • Pay RM 80 for your participation fee
  • Prepare a presentation video about your project (5 minutes), and should be uploaded to your own YouTube channel
  • Please change the privacy setting of the video to “public”
  • Share the video link in HERE by 1 December 2020
  • The presentation video should contain
    • the explanation of the originality of the teaching material
    • how it is useful for teaching and learning STEM
    • material used to develop the project (Innovative and cost-effective)
    • Usability of the product (can be used by various students (inclusive))
    • Impact of the product (can improved students understanding in STEM)
    • records/photos on how it is used in teaching and learning STEM
  • Your presentation video can be in English or Malay language

Rules and Regulations

  • Open to all educators,
  • Individual and Group Participation (max. 6 members) is accepted,
  • Combination of educators, students and industry is highly encouraged
  • The project submission has to be a STEM teaching and learning material prepared by teachers and NOT students.
  • Participants are allowed to submit more than one submission but separate fee is to be charged,
  • Incomplete submission and/ or fraud information will be rejected by the organizer,
  • The deadline for registration is 15th November 2020.

The video should describe the project submission, and it may be presented in the following format:

  • Talking head + Powerpoint presentation
  • Narrated Powerpoint presentation
  • Screen casting
  • Explanation/Demonstration
  • Mini Documentary

  • Bronze Medal+ e-certificate + Featured in UTM STEM-Mate Best Practices (MOOC)

One form is for one medal only. If you require more than one medal (eg 2), please fill in this form twice.

The e-certificate will be emailed to all participants of STEM-MATE Competition and NALI 2020 Exhibition and Competition starting 13th December 2020 (Sunday).
To all medal recipients for NALI 2020 Exhibition and Competition, you may collect your medal starting from 15th December until 31st December 2020, 9am to 4pm from Miss Priscilla at UTMLead UTM JB (Block F54).
If you are STEM-MATE medal recipients, your medal will be posted out starting from 15th December until 31st December 2020.
