INTRODUCTION

Various teaching learning approaches keeps on flourishing to challenge traditional approaches. Among these approaches is “Scenario-Based Learning (SBL), which its advocate describes as one of the outstanding approach that is fully learner centred; where learners are actively involved in constructing their knowledge and as a pre-requisite to professional practice. Despites SBL approach acceptance and application into various disciplines, little is known about its relevance in engineering education programme of study. Therefore, in view of that, this paper is developed to give a highlight on the role SBL approach is playing in other education disciplines and how is it going to be relevant to Engineering Education (EE) discipline.  In specific terms, this paper explored some technical literature on the successes recorded as a result of using SBL, advantages of SBL over traditional learning approaches and some guidelines that may likely lead to its subsequent integration in EE disciplines. It was concluded that SBL approach is going to be suitable and relevant to EE, because of the approach outstanding performance in preparing learners for professional practice and motivation role in school-to-work transition, which is basically the main objective of EE programmes.
