29 [css3_tooltip header=’Synopsis’ content=’This workshop intends to provide a basic framework to preparing lecturers using collaborative learning using technology such as wiki, google doc, slideshow, voice tread etc. Pedagogical research has proven the efficacy of adaptive learning and collaborative learning, demonstrating that adaptive learning optimizes learning success while collaborative learning sparks cognitive development. Additionally, both methods have been shown to increase student engagement in classroom. Technological advances have enabled educators to quickly and efficiently bring their instruction in line with these two approaches, but maximizing the benefits of these technologies requires integrating them into classroom practices as seamlessly as possible by removing the silos in which they operate. The technology includes a collaborative learning network that allows discussions to occur around educational content as well as an adaptive learning engine that delivers a personal learning experience based on individual needs, learning styles and preferences. This workshop discusses the benefits learners derive from such adaptive and collaborative pedagogical approaches and corresponding technologies as well as optimization challenges. This two days workshop will provide basic knowledge of how to use technologies as a collaborative tool in teaching and learning process for sharing information with others. 33 [css3_tooltip header=’Synopsis’ content=’Constructivism is a student-centered approach that gives responsibility on students to take charge of their learning experiences. Teachers can help students build up their knowledge through active and personally meaningful learning activities. Teachers who embrace a constructivist approach seek ways to know students as individuals, to understand their unique ways of building, organizing or interpreting knowledge, and then to guide them towards new ways of thinking. Thus this course will expose students with a few of computer softwares like Xmind, Visio Professional and MindMap. These mind mapping and concept maps are described in order to provide a variety of applications in classrooms for students in presenting information and evaluating student understanding. [css3_tooltip header=’Synopsis’ content=’Mobile technologies are playing an increasingly important role in higher education environment. Devices such as smartphones, tablets, and e-book readers connect users to the continuous knowledge and let users not only consume but also discover and produce content. Convenience, flexibility, engagement, and interactivity are all factors that make mobile learning more attractive to students. Many universities now use mobile technologies and create mobile-optimized versions of their websites or build stand-alone applications that can be downloaded from mobile application stores. Thus in this course, educators will learn how to optimize their mobile apps so that students will integrate mobile apps in their learning. The classroom is a unique environment that requires careful consideration from developers in order to build a successful app. An ideal app is simple, engaging, and can be integrated seamlessly into existing classroom tools. ‘ position=’right’ tag=’a’ width=’500px’ style=’style_17′ delay=’0′ cursor=’pointer’ event=’hover’ ]Optimizing Mobile Apps for T&L[/css3_tooltip]
